our blessings, but how we use them,
is the true measure of our thanksgiving.

ADULT CHRISTIAN EDUCATION THIS
MONTH
- FaithWeavers - This class
follows the same course as the children use, but at an
adult level. If you have children in Sunday School,
this course enables you to understand the stories your
children are learning and is also a good way to meet other
parents. Alice and Ken Cromwell will be happy to share
information regarding this small group ministry with you.
Contact them through the church
office - 215-357-4791.
- Parents and Tiny Christians -
If you have a young child, particularly infant – age
2, this class is perfect for you! You can bring your
child with you and discuss parenting issues from a Christian
perspective. Learn from one another and support one
another. This class will help you in the most important
job you will ever do.
- Reading the Psalms with Luther -
Martin Luther loved the Psalter (Psalms). It was his daily
prayer book and an important part of his piety. In this
study, we will learn Luther's understanding of the Psalter
as a Christ-centered book and its importance to our understanding
of living a Christian life. (ends November 23)
- Joshua: Be Strong and Courageous -
Joshua lived a life defined by courage, humility, prayer,
and worship. In this course, familiar American history
landmarks located in Washington D.C.
will illuminate
Joshua's
story in a way never before experienced. We will also be
challenged to be strong and courageous. (ends
November 23)
- Welcome Aboard! is
designed for persons interested in an overview of the basic
characteristics of the Christian Church, our denomination
(The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America - ELCA), and
Good Shepherd. Although intended specifically for those
considering possible membersinp in the congregation, this
offering is open to all. The course is offered on Sundays
in the fall, winter, and spring and consists of three
sessions. Fall classes will be held November 2, 9, and
15.
- Bible Study Groups - Wednesday

join us for an exciting new year!

-- As we prepare for Thanksgiving and give thanks for all the blessings
in our lives,
we can show our love for others by providing Thanksgiving dinners
for less fortunate families in our area. You can feed a
family of four by donating the following items:
- $25 GIANT gift certificate for which a turkey can be purchased
- stuffing mix
- gravy mix or canned gravy
- canned cranberry sauce
- canned vegetables
- fruit juice
- rolls and butter
- canned pumpkin pie mix (no frozen pies)
- canned evaporated milk
- pkg. pie crust mix
If you are unable to provide the food, but wish
to donate either a gift card or money towards a gift card, please
do
so by either dropping your donation off at the church office
or by using an envelope in the pew racks and marking it "Thanksgiving
Dinner." It would be helpful for planning purposes
if you would contact the church
office if you plan to donate a Thanksgiving dinner.

BOOK SWAP and other library news - It is wonderful
to see so many people taking advantage of the book swap shelves
in the Library and at Plum Street. Keep in mind
that the shelves are meant for sharing a favorite book of recent
publication. Please save other books for the annual Spring used
book sale. While you’re making your swap, don’t forget
to check out the other books available for lending in the Library.
Also, members of the Library Oversight Committee (Georglyn Davidson,
Paula Mirabile-Willard, Joan Glaser) would like to remind everyone
that they are always open to suggestions or ideas for improving
the library and its services. If you have a suggestion for a change
or addition - whether in lending materials or in the physical setup

at library@gslconline.org.
